I have all of the little books from when I was a child, and we've started reading them with Benson. Honestly, I don't care for all of them, but there are a few that are simply timeless.
Our favorites include, The Tale of Peter Rabbit
and the Tale of Jeremy Fisher.
Benson really likes to pretend he's "Benjamin Bunny," and I'm "Peter Rabbit"
He'll say,
"Peter Rabbit- have you seen Mr. McGregor?"
and when we
"spy him 'round the end of the cucumber frame, planting out young cabbages"...
(yes, he quotes that line verbatim and it's hilarious, because I'm fairly certain he has no idea what a "cucumber frame" is, much less what "young cabbages" are...)
We have to run and hide from Mr. McGregor...
...because we certainly don't want to get put into a pie!
After a lot of running from Mr. McGregor, little bunnies need a bath!
If you ask him what his favorite part of his "new house" is, second to the "Top Bunk," he will tell you, it "the jets."
He's referring to the bathtub in our bathroom that has jets in it that he gets to turn on when he's in the bath.
A few days ago, after getting out of the bath, he had on his frog towel and started "fishing for minows" in the bathtub, declaring that he was Jeremy Fisher.
I love this little froggy's imagination!
Here's an account of the Tale of Jeremy Fisher if you've never heard the story.
Tomorrow, you'll hear all about how I've also been renamed
"Fireman Mama"
pretty regularly for the past week. :)
I love this!!! What a cute little frog. AC loves the Beatrix Potter books too. He is known as "P Hop" around here. :) miss you guys
