Boys of Summer

I love this memory.  This is one of those times in life that I wish I could replay over and over again...
There wasn't anything particularly special about this day other than the fact that it was hot.  Benjamin came home from work and put out the slip-n-slide and I'm not sure which of my boys had more fun!

Benson had a little trouble getting the momentum going to make it to the end of the slide.  He would run and hop on the end of the slide and get stuck and frustrated.   But, daddy to the rescue!

Benjamin would get a running start and CHUNK our son down the slip-n-slide.  This is another one of those times where I'm thankful that I'm confident in my husbands athletic ability.

Pirate Life

Pirate Life is mostly about ...

Pirate Wars

And if you don't watch out, you WILL get swash buckled.

joust

Peter Pan can often be seen battling Capt'n Hook...

nice form

And most of the time, he wins...

But I have a feeling it's just because Capt'n Hook loves him so much.  :)

Sometimes, he even lets him borrow his hook :)

Occasionally, there are surprise attacks by Pirate Aunts....

And if ya can't beat 'em, ya join 'em!

June 21... A super special day!

Did you know June 21 is the first day of Summer?

It's also the longest day of the year...
which is pretty appropriate, because it's also
my little sister Ashley's birthday!

And now, there's another super special reason to get excited about June 21!

On June 21, 2011, Patrica Ruth Ingram, "Ruthie" was born.

I know I posted an announcement of her birth right after she arrived, but I just came across some sweet pics that I didn't want to forget, so here goes...

Thomas and I went to Greenville for her arrival!

Lael practiced her big sister skills on eight week old baby Thomas..

Aunt Becca went with us to keep the babies while we were at the hospital.

Thomas had fun hanging out with the Laelie :)

It was such a joy to get to see sweet baby Ruthie enter the world!

And a little later in the day, I brought Thomas back up to the hospital to meet Ruthie!  :)

She was in her mamas tummy earlier on this same day.. That's kinda amazing, really.
Thomas, with those eyebrows...

These sweet little babies are such a gift and we will always remember June 21, 2011 as a VERY special day!  This is the first of MANY pictures of these two, to come over the years :)
Sweet little loves :)

The great thing about parks...

....

monkey

.... is the AFTER park, CRASH....

snuggly

Four year olds don't often fall asleep on daddy's lap...
but when they do... my oh my!, they melt this mama's heart!

sleepy profile

I love walking through life, holding both of these hands...

hands

There's nothing like a sleeping baby.  Even when your baby is FOUR.

It makes me think of the book, "I'll love you Forever"
Which I've always thought was slightly creepy and have thought to myself, while reading it... "Cut The CORD, woman!" (to the old woman who drives across town, climbs in her grown sons window to rock him and sing "I'll like you forever, I'll love you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be...")

But as time passes... I'm starting realize that even though I would probably never DO that... there's part of me that never wants to give up snuggling with my "baby"!
