Dallas, Day Two-Part Two and Dallas Day Three-- a BIG FAT BUMMER

This is the rest of Day Two, Benson's Birthday, in Dallas, TX. When we asked him what he wanted to eat for his birthday, Benson said, "chicken, fries..." So we went to Chick-fil-a for lunch. This face that he's making in this picture is a pretty good summation of how he acted the whole time we were at Chick-fil-a... AWEFUL! He felt bad and was so whiny and cry-y. Poor little booger...

And here we are at this really cool place called "YogurtLand"-- It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the Dallas area--

You get your frozen yogurt and put your topping on and pay by the weight. It was so good and very reasonably priced!

Benson.. with his "i don't feel good, but I'm still up for ice-cream" face

And this is us trying to have a good time through Benson's punyness-- you can see here how pitiful he was.. Carrie and Mrs. Karen were such good sports!

Lil Alli-bug eatin' some din-din

Asleep in her swing with her little gift set from Blush and Bashful Baby

Mrs. Karen was so thoughtful and got Benson a Happy Birthday Banner and a "2" candle to blow out on his cake! How special!

And they got him a little present to open...

The movie Cars! And a Lighting Mcqueen and a monster truck! Whoa! He LOVES IT ALL!!

Benson giving Boogie a BIG HUG! (this is the face he makes when he's giving a BIG hug-- as opposed to a regular ole' normal hug)

And here comes the big fat bummer part.... After much deliberation, we decided to cut our five day trip to texas down to two (well, traveling on the third).
I was so worried about Benson getting Alli sick, and Benson felt so bad and was so needy and whiney, that Benjamin made the executive decision to bring us back early. I was so very sad to be leaving... after all, it took us forever to finally make it OUT to texas and I wanted to really stay and ENJOY it, but the Lord had other plans... I just have to trust in that...
After seeing how EASY it is to get out there though.. i must say, I do hope we'll do it again SOON!
Plane ride home... :(
See the cute little plane shirt Benson's wearing on the Plane-- we got it from-- you guessed it-- Blush and Bashful Baby! Woot!

And he's out...

Benson's Grandmama (Mrs. Lula) brought Hannah to the airport to watch the plane fly in and they brought Benson a fireman hat which he thought was AWESOME...

And when we drove up at home, our lilies were blooming and the verse that's written on Alli's wall in texas entered my head and touched my heart...

"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink (OR HOW LONG YOU STAY IN TEXAS!!); do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well." Luke 12:27-31

What a sweet and precious reminder that the Lord gave me that he is indeed in control and knows what's best and will take care of and provide for us better than our own plans could ever! What an incredible blessing to know him and have such full confidence in him. Praise be to God!

  3. "When you face a special challenge Or you need to make a choice, Just say a prayer to God above And listen for His voice." the voice of God that gives us hope and guides us through the days Is still and small, and comes to us in countless different ways- It may be in a song we've heard a hundred times or more, Or in a smile from someone whom we've never seen before, It may be found in sunshine's warmth, or in a work of art, But most of all, and best of all we feel it in our heart! Emily Matthews wrote this and it was sent to me in a card from Martha at work. "The LORD will guide you always;....You will be like a well-watered garden, lake a spring whose waters never fail" (Isa 58:11) My wonderful daughter sent me this in a present that will last FOREVER on December 4, 2000. I love you so much!!
