May Lake Day

Last weekend, we enjoyed a beautiful day on the lake with Nana and Papa.

Benson's friend, Great Granddaddy Hunter, came along for the ride...

Benson asked seventy-two thousand questions
about the boat, the lake, the wildlife...
everything he could think of...

And Papa happily answered every one...

And Papa let him drive the boat...

And he got to ride on the top with Nana...

So did Peaches...

Seventy-two thousand and One.

It was a perfect, sun-shiney day...

And he could not have had more fun.

None of us could...

Until next time...

Georgia (Benson) on my mind...

Benjamin and I are on a couples outing in Savannah.
We're having an absolute ball, eating way too much seafood and pecan pralines,
and not sure whether to be happy or sad about the fact
that Benson doesn't even realize we're gone...
he's having way too much fun with all of his grandparents.

We had to bribe him with a "surprise" just to get him to talk to us on the phone!
We're pretty sure he doesn't even miss us.
Let's just say, the feeling isn't mutual.
And the thought has crossed my mind...
Is this what it feels like to have a teenager?!
I feel like I'm missing an arm.

A page is turned in the book of Lash

We got to celebrate Lash's graduation from the University of South Carolina this past weekend.
It was a nice (*quick :)* ) ceremony.
And I may or may not have cried. :)

I totally pulled a paparazzi move to get these pics.. I darted over to the edge of the seating area and was hanging over the rail... someone asked me.. "Are you with the school?"
"Nope... I'm just a sister :) "
Moment Captured.
Check.
:)

Magna Cum Laude woot! woot!

We are proud of her :)

It was a bit windy

the father daughter snap..
love it :)

Me Miss, Uncle Rick and Hunter hosted the graduation party at their house.

Aunt Sherri and Uncle Earle came too!

And there were shenanigans...

And Lash's first monogram with her "new" Benson-given name
(from our Great Aunt Susie- such a cool gift :) )

Happy Graduation Lash!!!

Hah-Pee Burf Day Paaaa Paaaa

We took a special trip to Pleasant Hill Middle School
to surprise our favorite administrator on his birthday!

He has quite the random assortment of confiscated goodies
that Benson found most fascinating...
(He also had a plate of oatmeal cookies sitting on his desk and offered one to Benson who replied, {and i quote}:
"No Thank You... I'm not a fan."
Wonder where he got that from?! :)

And then it was time for Bus Duty...

And Benson helped his Papa...

One of the perks of Bus Duty is that you get to get on the buses...

As papa was holding Benson and stepping off of the bus, the kids had gotten out of school and were starting to walk toward the bus- When they saw "Mr. Hunter" step off holding a child-- they went crazy-- "How did that kid get on there!?!" "Where did he come from?!" "How long has he been on there?!"

Since they hadn't seen him get on, they really thought Benson was a runaway- stowaway!
Oh the mind of a sixth grader...

Benson said it was too bright and he needed sunglasses... Lash, I'm not sure daddy would approve of this look...

Benson was SO EXCITED about "Bus Duty"-- and as we were standing there watching papa corral the kiddos, Benson, holding my hand, looked up at me and said... "Mama? What's Dooooty?" He didn't know what it was, but if Papa was there, he knew he wanted to be there too!

He was a little confused about why exactly we were celebrating this "Spay- shull" day...

But then he got it.

"Why is it a special day?!"

"Because Hah-Pee Burf Day Paaaa Paaaa"

That's why!

In this particular picture he was trying to have a "Goaty" like papa's:

Hah-Pee Burf Day to YoU Dear Paaaa Paaaa
We love you so much!!

10:00 on Saturday Night I get a "Pix Message"...

I just about fell over!

White Knoll played Hartsville at WK in baseball and my uncle Rick spotted him first...
he went and told my aunt Missy , and she, of course, totally thought he was pulling her leg...
until she saw it with her own eyes!

Wild Man was in Lexington!!

And if there was any question as to who he actually is,
he had "Wild Man" with the picture of him holding his guns on his shirt for clarification...
and on the back?

You guessed it...

"People know not to mess with me!"

He sells the shirts for $20 in his store and according to him, "people come from all over to buy 'em"

In case you missed the post explaining how we know this man...

Unbelievable! Only Aunt Missy...

**one side note-- when I was putting this picture on my computer, Benson saw it and goes... "hey!! It's Me-Miss! And Uncle Rick!!" and I said and who is that? (pointing to Wild Man) and he said, "Hunner!!" :)
