I had a Blackberry for almost a year. I loved it. My favorite part about it was bbm. (blackberry messenger) That app allowed me to instantly chat with my people who also had blackberries.
It's a great feature. A feature that will be missed.
Today is day FIVE of no phone for me.
This has been quite the adjustment.
If you've tried to contact me over the last five days and haven't been able to reach me, don't be offended. No one has been able to reach me. I've been unreachable.
Might as well be on another planet.
I was holding out hope for my blackberry to be revived after being kept in rice day after day.
But alas. She's a goner.
Blackberries weren't made to sit in a cup of water that you placed in the cup holder of your car for your dog since it was 211 degrees outside.
They just weren't.
I've kept my mac with me at all times in case someone needs to contact me. (well, email me. or facebook me. those are the only ways people can get in touch with me.)
I don't feel safe leaving the house.
How would I get in touch with anyone if something were to happen!?
We did venture out to the park yesterday (its only a mile down the road) but I realized I had no way to tell time. The batteries in my watch were dead. I always have my phone with me. Why would I need a watch?!
What in the world did we do before cell phones? I'm old enough to remember a time before people started having "bag phones" in their cars. I even had a car phone installed in my car in high school. Very tech savvy.
Of all the things I was MOST sad about, I almost CRIED when I realized I had LOST all of my camera phone pics! Admittedly, I have PLENTY of other pictures (pushing 20,000 on my hard drive since last may- and that's no exaggeration) but sometimes I don't have my Nikon with me and so I snap with my phone (I'm all about "capturing the moment" :) ). And I didn't want those memories to be lost forever. So I dug around and found a USB cord and connected my dead blackberry to my mac and VOILA! It zipped my pictures over to my computer! So now I'm at roughly 20,100. And I thought I'd share my favorite camera phone pics in honor of my beloved blackberry and the fun times it has witnessed! :)
Get ready. This should be fun :)

As you can see here, we've had a lot going on! Thomas is now 13 weeks old. The last picture I posted of him on here, he was about THREE weeks old. (He IS growing, I promise!;) ) Now that things are settling down a bit, maybe I'll be able to blog about all the fun we've been having this summer! I can't believe it's coming to an end! Time's flying by wayyy too fast!!!!
I should receive my new phone in the next day or so. :) Call me ;)
Jessica- your little boys are precious! I absolutely love that Pirate canvas!! Where did you get it from?
ReplyDeleteThanks :) It's something I saw and loved at a boutique here in Hartsville called Minnies Giftique. I didn't get it because it doesn't match their room, but I loved it and might make something using that verse since we've pretty much been over run by pirates around here :) And I love being able to spin the focus of "treasure" back onto the Lord. :)
ReplyDeleteMy best friend is redoing her little boys room in a pirate theme, and that would be perfect! I've seen so many pirate things out, but I love that it has a Bible verse on it! That is awesome that they meshed the two together, the Lord really does have a place in the "fads" of today!
