Thomas' First bath

It took forever for the whole little stub of Thomas' raisin to fall off, so it wasn't until he was three weeks old that he got his first real bath at home...

He's a fan of bathtime :)

It seems like just yesterday we were giving someone ELSE their first bath....

My how time flies...

SUCH a big helper!  :)

Benson is one PROUD big brother!

I love a freshly bathed baby!  Nothin' like it! :)

Some things I don't want to forget...

I don't want to forget the way his little three week old hair swoops to the side and how tiny his little hips are...



I don't want to forget these little wrinkles and the way it smells when I cuddle him right there...



I don't want to forget these tiny footsies and how little those toes are...



I don't want to forget the downy sweetness that covers his little backside...



I don't want to forget those sweet eyes, taking in all the world for the first time...



And the way that the back of his hands dimple with new baby freshness...



And the way he can wrinkle that forehead and contort those eyebrows!



Or that sweet little pug nose profile....



Or those little lips that I get to kiss and kiss and kiss....



I don't want to forget these precious, sweet little moments I've been given with my precious, sweet baby Thomas...

People with the boy

Thomas got to meet/see some friends and family during his third week of life and i was there snappin' away :)  I feel its important to document things:)

Mrs. Marty meets Thomas...

Great Aunt Sherri met the little love...

And so did Valerie, who is expecting her OWN little one.. the third Hunter great grand!!

Thomas' Baby Shower

The sweet ladies in our church wanted to throw a baby shower for baby Thomas while he was still in my belly-- but the whole 10 weeks of bedrest thing kinda got in the way of that-- and since I kinda have a track record of going into labor the day after a baby shower on bedrest, we decided to wait to have the baby shower AFTER he was born...  WHICH, by the way, I think is a great way to do it, because then everybody gets to SEE the lil cutie :)

I thought the table was so pretty!

Sweet friends Caroline and Elizabeth got to snuggle him...

And sweet Karen, who was gracious enough to host the shower in her home, couldn't get enough of that new baby sweetness :)

What a sweet time it was!  

Thank you, girls for throwing us a shower, I am grateful to the Lord for you!

In all the world my nest is best!

We love this book 

 

The only thing I don't love is the part where the girl bird says she "hates" it... we replace it with "i really don't like it!"  ;)  It's the little things... :)

One of the lines in the book says,

I love my house, I love my nest, in all the world my nest is best!

Benson loves to make a "nest" out of all the million pillows on our bed. 
And he's excited to have a new little hatchling to share his nest with...

I love my "lil chickens!" :)
